[UPDATED] CMS Releases FY 2021 SNF Proposed Rule

On April 10, 2020, CMS released the SNF PPS Proposed Rule for fiscal year 2021. This rule updates Medicare payment rates and quality programs for skilled nursing facilities (SNFs). The rule proposes a 2.3% increase in payment for FY 2021 and proposes revised geographic delineations used to calculate the SNF PPS wage index. The rule also proposes changes to ICD-10-CM code mapping for payment group assignment under PDPM. The comment period for the FY 2021 SNF Proposed Rule closes June 9, 2020.
