[UPDATED] CMS Releases CY 2021 Home Health PPS Proposed Rule

On June 25, 2020, CMS released the calendar year (CY) 2021 Home Health (HH) Prospective Payment System (PPS) Proposed Rule which includes the following updates:

      • A 2.7% payment increase
      • Restructuring of urban and rural statistical areas to align with recommendations from the Office of Management and Budget, with a 2-year phase-in for areas affected negatively
      • Allowing the use of “telecommunications systems” in HH on a permanent basis as outlined in the first COVID-19 Interim Final
      • Policies regarding the implementation of the new Medicare Part B home infusion therapy benefit that was finalized in the CY 2019 and CY 2020 HH PPS final rules
